Synopsis
The Indonesian government promises to facilitate WiMAX wireless Internet network technology trials to a few interested local companies. Facilities to be provided are in the form of free license and frequency charges for a six-month trial. A number of local and foreign companies are ready for the trial among them XL, Alcatel Lucent (French), and Ordyn Technologies. Director General of Post and Telecom the Ministry of Communication and Information Basuki Yusuf Iskandar said among the local companies that will take part in the trials are Inti, Harief, TRG, and United. Ordyn Indonesia will likewise develop a WiMAX device business. This company will cooperate with PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (Icon+), a subsidiary of the Indonesian State-Owned Electricity Company selling broadband internet service with its power line technology.
