Synopsis
The year 2008 may become a milestone for WiMAX network development (worldwide interoperability for microwave access) in Indonesia. The Indonesian government ascertained that it would hold a broadband wireless access (WBA) tender by the end of this year. Indonesian Tower, Hariff, Technology Research Group, and PT INTI are local providers of WiMAX technology. In addition, Indian WiMAX device producer Ordyn Technologies Pte Ltd plans to build its chipset plant unit in Batam.
