Client Requirement:
To provide an SDH based solution to lease a DS3 bandwidth and 100 Mbps Ethernet to Infosys Technologies and Wipro, two of the leading IT companies from India.
Summary of Ordyn Solution:
The solution was provided to achieve the requirement of provisioning a DS3 and 100 Mbps Ethernet using the Ordyn 1140, a SDH Mux CPE. The OrdynView 200 NMS was also provisioned at the STPI premises to manage the services provided to Infosys and Wipro.
Details of the Solution:
Considering the requirements of STPI, Ordyn proposed using two of the Ordyn 1140 SDH Multiplexer CPEs configured for E3/DS3 and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet.
At STPI:
Two of the Ordyn 1140s were provisioned at STPI premises, configured with one E3/DS3 card each and one 8 port Ethernet card. STPI leased fiber to the Infosys and Wipro premises and offered DS3 bandwidth and 100 Mbps Ethernet services for high speed Corporate LAN and internet connectivity. An NMS was also provisioned at STPI to provide for various network management functions such as provisioning, configuration, security, fault and performance management for the services offered to Infosys and Wipro.
Highlights of the Solution:
The solution is based on Ordyn’s state-of-the-art SDH Multiplexers (Ordyn 1140) which is a cost-effective, reliable, easily deployed and flexible solution capable of providing high bandwidth over fiber.
The solution provides for additional Ethernet services that will be required as demand increases from the Customer.
The solution complied with all technical requirements providing excellent performance as per the customer’s requirement.
The Ordyn 1140 is a differentiated product - it is a simple CPE that suits the exact requirement of the customer by providing just the DS3 bandwidth and Ethernet services which makes it a cost-effective solution for the service provider.
The Ordyn 1140 is a very cost-effective, feature rich, next-generation SDH STM-1 Add-Drop Multiplexer with Ethernet over SDH support in a compact wall or rack mountable 19” by 1U form factor chassis. A typical maximum
configuration includes the provision of 21E1s with 1E3/DS3. Minimum configurations can support 4 E1 or 4 Ethernet ports. All features of a full-fledged ADM such as Virtual Concatenation, fully non-blocking, any port to any port
cross-connect at up to VC-12 level including tributary to tributary and broadcast connections, hold-over clock, SNCP-N based ring protection and Engineering Order-Wire are supported.
